Review every way you can sign in and link or unlink your social accounts.

Sign-in methods & linking social accounts

The Sign-in methods page at /user/profile/sign-in-methods is the single place to see — and manage — every way you can access your account. It lists each method, whether it's available on this site, and whether you've set it up.

The methods catalogue

  • Password — always available; your baseline credential.
  • Magic link (email) — request a one-time sign-in link instead of typing a password.
  • Token / OTP code — a short code delivered by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Biometrics / passkeys and security keys — managed under Profile → 2FA.
  • Numeric PIN and unlock pattern — quick sign-in on trusted devices.

Linking a social account

  1. Open the sign-in methods page and find the provider — Google, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Discord or TikTok.
  2. Choose Connect and approve the request on the provider's site.
  3. Once linked, you can sign in with that provider in one tap.

Unlinking

To disconnect a provider, choose Disconnect next to it. Always keep at least one working method (your password or another linked provider) so you never lock yourself out.

Tip: linking a social account doesn't post anything on your behalf — it's only used to verify it's you at sign-in.
